Pale Blue Eyes这首歌于1968年11月在好莱坞的TTG录音室录制，共有五个段落时长5分41秒，以Lou Reed非常文艺的自白腔打头，在”Linger on”一句上撩人不止。原版的录音呈现撤重的贝斯和清拨的吉他，至关紧要的是那煽情的摇铃，摇的Lou Reed的一把深情和悲伤都非常到位。R.E.M和Patti Smith等音乐家后来也都翻唱过这首“Pale Blue Eyes”，上世纪60年代格林威治的民谣遗老Eric Anderson在05年的怀旧唱片”Waves – Great American Song Series Vol. 2“里翻唱了包括Bob Dylan，Phil Ochs等民谣老伙计们的歌曲，其中也少不了这首Rou Leed的”Pale Blue Eyes”…

而最开始提到的Tom Mcrae的这个木琴版的”Pale Blue Eyes”则甚为安静，Tom Mcrae被教堂的福光洗礼过的嗓子把这歌演绎的更加紧凑，但却是用一种近乎不动声色的温柔语调，而悲情的部分只是被他戛然而止的尾音处理和”Linger on”后的大提琴声渲染而起，将将润湿眼睛…

而这篇小博的来由，则是错位于Mint同学的豆油，热爱文学的她把哈代的小说“a pair of blue eyes”与Barzin在首张专辑中写的同名曲目Pale Blue Eyes互叙，“轻微”“淡到若有若无”的哈代和Barzin浓烈切重郁然其中的声音缘起了那份“难以具名的哀愁”…
